Arknights New Player Progression - Part 1

Hello and Welcome to Rhodes Island! With so many things to do in Arknights, it can often be overwhelming, especially for newer doctors. No to worry though, Dr. Deeps will walk you through a to-do list that will ensure that you:

Breeze through the story mode
Level your operators
Build up your Base

On a quick side note, do check out my reroll guide if you are keen on rerolling for a better start. It also goes over some teambuilding basics, so definitely check it out if you're interested in that!

Now assuming you have your team comp figured out, you will eventually arrive at a point where you use up the free exp tickets (battle records) and gold given to you through missions and new player rewards, arriving at a team somewhat like this:

Some farming of CE-2 and LS-2 is recommended (only until Lv 30), but don't spend all your sanity (energy) on them as the reward/energy cost is quite low for those stages.

Once you arrive at a full team of Lv.30 operators, you will now be able to clear CE-3 and LS-3 to further power up your operators at an acceptable reward/sanity ratio.

Clear examples of  CE-2, LS-2 and LS-3 will not be provided as the stages are quite manageable and you probably just need help with team composition if you can't beat them.

At this point, you should be able to power up your team to be able to brute your way through one of largest beginner progression blockers: Elite Casters (Missions 2-4, S2-5, S2-6, S2-7, 2-5)

The game essentially forces you to learn how to play properly. Don't get discouraged if you need to try a few or even ten times (just remember to use the drill plan to conserve sanity, literally and figuratively). Some good advice, especially for S2-6 & S2-7 is to not overextend, and try to spread your units, forming a thin (w-ish) line on the right of the screen. Regardless, here is a clear example for those who might need them:

From here on out when the supply stage that gives base materials comes out, you should farm it to build up your base, with the aim of getting all production facilities (left-side of base) to Lv2 and getting the workshop and office to Lv3 (eventually).

Guides for SK-2 and SK-3 stages are provided below.

Next, to upgrade your Control Center, you will need keel, a material locked behind story progression, so go back to story mode when you have to, and power up your heroes through CE-3 and LS-3 if you encounter any roadblocks.

Part 2 of this post will help you transition into CE-4, LS-4 and provide guides on the promotion material (chips) stages. Until next time doctors!
